Ali Hall leads this workshop using presentations, readings, transcripts, audiotape, DVD and group practice. Participants will learn to recognize and categorize common elements of practitioner or clinician competence in Motivational Interviewing. Participants for this workshop should have experience in Motivational Interviewing and a desire to learn the MITI 4.2.1 for supervisory, training or research purposes. This course will include large group exercises and individual or small group coding practice. Pre-workshop readings will be sent out and there will be an option for a free follow-up conference call for inter-rater reliability.

This training will help you improve your ability to provide specific feedback to a colleague’s practice of Motivational Interviewing. Through discussion, exercises and practice learn more about how to coach others and to create a plan consistent with the spirit and skills of Motivational Interviewing.

In providing this feedback we want to make it as helpful and user-friendly as possible and here is an opportunity for you to grow in your ability to provide feedback consistent with Motivational Interviewing spirit and skills.
