Abstract | Failure to keep up their antipsychotic medication is a major cause of relapse in people with psychosis. Compliance therapy, a pragmatic intervention based on motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy, is effective in enhancing concordance and reducing the risk of relapse. There is emerging evidence that after training in medication management, mental health nurses are able to deliver compliance therapy to people with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. |
