Motivational Interviewing - Basic Introductory Training
This 2-day, interactive training will cover the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing (MI). By the end of the 2-day training, participants will be expected to:
- Have a basic understanding of the MI "spirit," fundamental elements, and terminology
- Have practiced basic MI engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning skills
- Understand how to integrate MI into daily practice to improve treatment engagement and efficiency around a variety of mental health and substance use problem areas
This training is geared toward healthcare profressionals working with patients/clients on behavior change goals (e.g., substance use, mental health, health behaviors). Our typical audience includes: psychology and social work trainees, medical residents and fellows, social workers, psychologists, counselors, and physicians.
