This 2-day, interactive training will cover the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing (MI). By the end of the 2-day training, participants will be expected to:

  • Have a basic understanding of the MI "spirit," fundamental elements, and terminology
  • Have practiced basic MI engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning skills
  • Understand how to integrate MI into daily practice to improve treatment engagement and efficiency around a variety of mental health and substance use problem areas

Target Audience: Mental health, substance abuse, medical, or other healthcare professionals who work with patients or clients regarding behavior change goals. CEs will be available for Michigan-licensed social workers.

Who are the Trainers?  Erin Bonar, PhD*, Chamisa Mackenzie, LMSW, MPH*, & Chassi Jensen, LMSW.

To confirm your attendance and receive Early Bird pricing ($200/ticket), register by February 28, 2020 at 5:00 PM. After this time, pricing for the event will increase ($225/ticket).
