Basic/Introductory Motivational Interviewing Training
MINT Trainers at the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry are offering a 2-day Basic/Introductory Training in Ann Arbor, Michigan!
This 2-day, interactive training will cover the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing (MI).
By the end of the 2-day training, participants will be expected to:
- Have a basic understanding of the MI "spirit," fundamental elements, and terminology
- Have practiced basic MI engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning skills
- Understand how to integrate MI into daily practice to improve treatment engagement and efficiency around a variety of mental health and substance use problem areas
The intended audience includes mental health, substance abuse, medical, or other professionals who work with patients or clients regarding behavior change goals.
When? Monday, September 10, 2018 and Tuesday, September 11, 2018
The training will be all day BOTH days
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour break for lunch
