Training overview:
This training is designed for anyone interested in furthering their skills in Motivational Interviewing (MI), regardless of professional background.
This interactive training is split over two days in 4-hour increments. It includes experiential and didactic components, meaning you will learn theory and engage in hands-on activities to practice MI skills.
In this training you will:
- Identify and learn to shift between Tasks in an MI conversation
- Elicit change talk and minimize sustain talk
- Practice the technique of Ask-Offer-Ask
- Provide concise, complex reflections
Who will get the most out of this training:
This training is great fit for those who have previously completed a training in Motivational Interviewing and want to expand their knowledge and application of MI. It’s ideal for individuals in mental health and healthcare more broadly, such as therapists, social workers, substance use counselors, health coaches, peer counselors and graduate students.

Continuing education information:
This training is eligible for 7 continuing education credits. To receive a Certificate of Completion and/or Continuing Education Unit, learners must attend the full session with audio and video on and complete a training evaluation. As an approved CE provider through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, these requirements are necessary to maintain training integrity and meet provider standards.
All learners receive the same documentation; however, whether it functions as a Continuing Education Unit or a Certificate of Completion depends on your jurisdiction. Learners outside of Indiana (including internationally) are encouraged to submit their documentation to their licensing or credentialing board for review and possible approval.
