Rashid Flewellen is an Associate Researcher and casual lecturer in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work, and causal academic in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology at Western Sydney University. He has taught across several subjects including Motivational Interviewing in social work practice, social work with children and families, mental health and Indigenous Studies. Within the Medical Education Unit, he is primarily responsible for co-teaching the Community Research attachment for Year 4 medical students, which involves supporting over 2 dozen group research projects each year in collaboration with community-based supervisors. He also teaches Problem-Based Learning and Personal and Professional Development attachments across Years 1 to 3. He works as a critical care Social Worker in the emergency department and intensive care units within the public hospital system -South Western Sydney Local Health District.
