New York City: MI in Groups

This training focuses on the process of adapting the person-centered motivational interviewing approach to groups, and is highly experiential, leading participants through a series of MI group practice exercises.   MI honors person-centered principles while retaining a focused, goal-oriented nature, helping clients define personal goals that align with their values and implement them by drawing on their strengths.  MI groups harness the power of group support to help people move together toward change. Theory, research and practice in this workshop will be based on the workshop leader’s Motivational Interviewing in Groups book published in 2013 as part of the official series of MI books.   9am - 2pm.
