Facilitator-led Introductory

Do you have a professional role in which you attempt to support individuals through the process of behavior change? Decades of research have demonstrated the effectiveness of Motivational Interviewing (MI) as an evidence-based intervention to compassionately guide the behavior-change process. This two-hour introduction to Motivational Interviewing will begin with a discussion of the clinical applications of MI. Participants will also learn about the concept of ambivalence, as a foundational concept in MI, as well as the “righting reflex,” which inhibits the process of change. This brief introduction is NOT a comprehensive training—it is only a start. To master Motivational Interviewing, requires an extended period of practice and supervision.
