During this four-week online workshop, participants will learn: the fundamentals of motivational interviewing, the core OARS strategies of the motivational interviewing process, ways to identify and elicit change talk, as well as strategies for exploring and resolving ambivalence. The learning process is varied across several modalities, to maximize your opportunity to familiarize yourself with motivational interviewing as it can be applied in your practice.

3-Day Motivational Interviewing Introductory Intensive

A 12 hour facilitator led course consisting of four, three hour weekly sessions. Participants will acquire a solid base of M.I. Theory, explore M.I. spirit, investigate opening strategies, intervention traps, negotiate resistance, develop and integrate skills and techniques to progress competency. This course will benefit professionals working with people where behaviour change would be favourable. This course has been awarded 12 CPD points with the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI).

Who is this training designed for?

The introductory Motivational Interviewing training is appropriate for professionals and professionals-in-training who have had no prior or some exposure to Motivational Interviewing techniques. People whose work involves helping clients achieve behavior change, (i.e., Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Nurses, Case Workers, Outreach Workers, Dietitians, Therapists, Clergy, Personal Trainers, Probation/Parole Officers etc.) will benefit most from this intensive MI training.
